Nationally Recognized: Smart Energy Source partnership featured in RE Magazine

The Smart Energy Source partnership was acknowledged in the August 2013 issue of Rural Electric (RE) Magazine as a model of collaboration among local and statewide partners. The advanced, forward-thinking efforts and partnership caught the editorial eye of the national publication, featuring SES for the first time. The headlined story, “The Smart Squad,” highlighted the partnership of Central Rural Electric Cooperative, Guernsey, an engineering firm in Oklahoma City and Oklahoma State University. This team has focused their efforts on embracing the latest in smart grid technology and system automation.

CREC joins NESI-SES Association

Central Rural Electric Cooperative recently joined the collaboration between Smart Energy Source and Oklahoma State University’s National Energy Solutions Institute. The NESI-SES Association is working to find practical energy solutions for private industry in energy production, distribution and conservation by utilizing practical and impactful research.

Energy leaders explore innovative solutions

Energy leaders from across the state met Sept. 11 to address strains on the electric grid caused by the rapid growth in the oil and gas industry. Leaders discussed a distributed energy resources/microgrid study that has potential of alleviating strain, and providing additional stimulus to the already booming Oklahoma economy. Meeting organizers included: Oklahoma State University, Guernsey, Oklahoma Corporation Commission Public Utility Division, and Smart Energy Source.
